My muscles

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

I’ve been in pain and walking like an idiot for about a week now, I feel quite silly! I’m not use to riding so much anymore and the daily rides have been breaking my muscles! However, my pony and I are getting back to shape, which is the most important thing.

Today wasn’t as great as normally though, the wind has really picked up and Darzy tends to get crazy excited when everything is blowing around. It didn’t help that my trainer had the 3 year-old Egyptian/Polish Arabian Stallion out and was workign with him, which made the mares run around like they’re all in heat *silly women*.
But I worked without stirrups for an hour again, which was definetly more work for me than the pony. *celebration for my muscles*

I’m going to Memphis on Sunday and it’s going to be insanely fun, I can’t wait! The entire trip takes like 12 hours though, I’m flying out SFO to Dallas, then from there to Memphis. I get to sit in Texas for three hours, hooray! At least I can say I’ve been in yet another state, Airports count right??

Love of my life

Pony is seriously awesome. I went riding this afternoon and saw my fuzzy pony in his winter coat, what an adorable thing. I wanted to get pictures, but he was SO dirty, it would shame me to say that that brown-white fuzzhead is something I consider my own.

It went fantastic today, I’ve taken to riding without a bit now, with those cool western style headstalls, which work via pressue on the nose. He’s more relaxed and loose than with a bit, plus I dont have the ten hour fight of getting the bit in his mouth.

How do I go without riding so long? Sitting on my horse is really relaxing and it definetly puts all other thoughts out of my head. But then again, this whole holiday is about putting shit out of my head, and so far it’s worked.

I took an awesome panorama shot of the lake today which I’m uploading later.

Edit: Later… next day, same thing.
The next three shots should actually be a panorama, but I’m too lazy to stitch them right now so you get it in three parts. It’s the view I have from our top deck (lower deck is where my room is, but the lake is partly obscured by trees)
